AboutAuthor and lyricist A.D. Hasselbring was raised in the Midwestern United States and received a B.A. in Literature and Composition from Pepperdine University. He grew up reading the works of C.S. Lewis, Thomas Malory, and Robert Louis Stevenson and their influence as stayed with him through the turning of every page.
First published as a playwright in 2010 his theatrical offerings include, the ground breaking musical Here I Am, Selling Love, Dark Heart of Poe, Plummet, The Simple Mind of Dillon Magee, and an innovative musical adaptation of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol. His lyrics have been sung by some of Broadway’s best voices and his songs have been heard in compilations and shows such as Smashing Broadway, Mad Captain Minor, and Songs for a New Orleans. Hasselbring founded and currently serves as artistic director for Common Man Stories and co-founded Fifth Talent Productions in Los Angeles. The A Thicket of Tales series, published and produced by New Ground Sound, is his first children's collection. Also a father of two, A Thicket of Tales was inspired by his own children and their love for stories, people and adventure. |
